The 2011-2012 school year represents the nineteenth year of the Union County Public Schools. This budget reflects the serious thought and consideration of teachers, principals, staff, citizens and the Board. The development of the 2011-2012 budget was driven by the Board of Education's Strategic Plan. However, mounting fiscal pressures coupled with continued student growth in enrollment presents current and future challenges. Kindergarten through twelfth grade enrollment for the 2011-2012 school year has grown over 600 students. We have continued to follow a modified zero based budgetary process. Twenty-four schools were built between fiscal years 2000 and 2009.
